YOUR PATH TO WELLNESS

A Natural Way to Unwind

Thai massage combines kneading, rhythmic pressure and assisted stretching along the body’s energy lines. As tension releases, many clients feel more flexible and mobile, and find they stand a little taller. It is a wonderfully invigorating way to relax body and mind. Come and experience this ancient tradition for yourself.

THAI MASSAGE

An Ancient Art

In traditional thinking, Thai massage encourages energy to flow freely along the body’s meridians. It is an ancient practice based on the principle of the body’s five elements, as described in old Tibetan texts.
Many clients describe feeling refreshed, looser and more energised after a Thai massage, with a lovely sense of mental clarity.
Thai massage is given either on a massage table or on a floor mat. No oil is used, and I use my whole body to apply the pressure, which is often firmer than in a deep tissue massage. How often you come is up to you and how your body responds. Many clients notice they feel more flexible and mobile after each session.

History of Thai Massage

Thai massage is part of traditional Thai medicine, with roots in Northern Indian traditions said to go back around 2,500 years. Tradition honours Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, known as the Buddha’s personal physician, as its founder. His approach was built on compassion, gratitude and respect for all beings, and combined caring touch, herbs and energy medicine to bring the body’s elements, mind and soul into balance.
Meridians, or energy lines, have been part of Eastern medicine for thousands of years, and they remain at the heart of how Thai massage is practised today.
